Intraback, Gehrke Econ visited the MPREIS Hydrogen Project

On April 15, 2024, 11 members of IntraBack, a working group organized by Gehrke Econ for companies in the bakery and confectionery industry, took part in the WIVA P&G HyWest Tour and visited the MPREIS Hydrogen facilities in Völs. The excursion was led by Nikolaus Fleischhacker and Chloe Yip from the Info Corner of the Green Energy Center Europe in Innsbruck.

The MPREIS Hydrogen Project is the spearhead for the development of a green hydrogen economy in Central Europe and has been established in recent years with significant support from the European Research and Innovation (R&I) Project Demo4Grid and the Austrian Research and Development (R&D) flagship project WIVA P&G HyWest.

During the excursion, the “Power to Hydrogen” process was demonstrated. This process is systematically researched at the HyWest Research Laboratory for the reconstruction of energy systems towards climate neutrality and energy autonomy and is consistently implemented through concrete projects by the Codex Partnership of the Green Energy Center Europe.

The journey between Völs and the Green Energy Center Europe was made using two cars powered by hydrogen and battery, giving the participants the opportunity to observe both mobility technologies and the optimized interaction of the “Power on Demand” and “Power to Hydrogen” processes.
